MODULE GUIDANCE

Shape how Plato guides your learners

Give Plato plain-language guidance: the tone to take, the examples to use, the boundaries to keep.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PLATO

Encourage learners to read the lecture notes first. Keep explanations short and use plain language.

What's the difference between correlation and causation?

PLATO REPLIES

Start with the Lecture 4 notes, which cover this well. In short, correlation means two things move together, while causation means one produces the other. Can you think of two things that are correlated but not causally linked?

Content management

Plato follows your VLE. It draws only on the files available to each student, and stays up to date as the module is updated.

Restricted Mode

In Restricted Mode, Plato answers using module content only, never wider knowledge or external sources. If a question falls outside of the module material, Plato says so.

One consistent platform

Set each module up on its own terms, while the institution keeps a single platform across every course.

Switch on when ready

Enable or disable Plato for each module. Keep it off until teaching begins, or pause it during online exams.
